The second marking has that same star inside a triangle (same size as the Izhmash triangle).Re: Russian SKS: Tula vs Izhevsk ? Well, depending on the year and condition of the Tula of course (e.g., 1949 Tula) - Izhevsk would be considered the more collectable of the two simply because a lot fewer were made. Not sure but I believe Izhevsk only made SKS rifles from sometime in 1953 to mid 1954 or so... less than a full year.There is a SKS fourm and that may be a better place to ask it's Survivors SKS board.
