Noise does not happen on startups during the day and the engine runs fine. Ok, so sometimes when i start my car i get this whining/grinding noise straight after the engine turns over for a second or two which i have a feeling might be my starter motor. Not really sure how else to describe it. There are times where it makes the sound while trying to start the engine which slows down the starting of it.If so then it is is probably engine related - power steering, alternator, etc. If it whines only when moving then it could be a wheel bearing or transmission related. I don't think it's the power steering pump, but it's a similar sound, coming from that general area, but turning the wheel doesn't have an effect on the sound - only pushing on the gas pedal.
