The check engine light along with service Stabilitrak/traction control message came on today. The engine runs and idles very rough. The truck has been taken care of very well. Any idea why these problems would occur? I drive a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 4x4 with a 5.3L V8 Vortec engine. Problem: I was recently making a trip to Waco, TX from Houston and during the drive the engine light came on as well as the service traction control and service stabilitrak messages.As for the need to replace all 4 wheel speed sensors, not a possible cause at all. Reinstall " ALL " the old " correct " electronic computer parts / ABS controller module back into your vehicle for starters. Your " original " ABS module has very specific communication protocols tied into the PCM along with the instrument cluster.I had this same problem on my 2005 Silverado.
