Just play Mystic Knight-- the game will make you an excellent Mystic Knight by default. It's a very good idea to have the augments from other vocations to supplement magick, strength and the speed at which you cast your spells (Articulacy and the Wyrmking's Ring are both great for MKs), but unless you go adventuring as such acquiring them would involve grinding.

Since it does draw from your base MAG, playing Sorcerer is the best way to min/max a GC build. That being said, I'll echo the general consensus that it's not even remotely necessary to min/max a Mystic Knight. Also, NONE of your swordspells scale off base strength, so a str-based mk is inefficient. A pure str MA would be far superior, as Immolation is a pure Str spell until enchanted.
