It's pretty severe and noticable through the steering column. You could probably cause the problem anywhere just by turning off the engine when there is a turning force (torque) on the steering wheel and it locks while in that condition.If you want to start your car, leave it running unattended, just remove the "key", lock the car manually and then when you return, unlock it manually (with key) and go.
